Patio string lights can really liven up your patio, deck, or garden. In fact, they’re great for any outdoor living space. Not only do they add to the festivity of any occasion – they also provide soft illumination that makes your outdoor spaces cozy and inviting. Of course, you don’t need a special occasion to enjoy outdoor lighting. You’ll find that they add wonderful ambience any time you use your outdoor living spaces after dark – even if it’s just you and your family or you and your significant other!

Why patio string lights?

Have you ever been to a restaurant at night that had outdoor seating? Many such dining venues use string lights around the area, including in the surrounding trees and shrubs. The lights add a special feel that adds to the enjoyment of being outdoors. With patio string lights, you can enjoy that same look any time – right in your own back yard.

Patio string lights are inexpensive and require no installation or special wiring. Just hang them and plug them in! String them along the eaves of your roof, around your tiki bar, and in small trees, or wrap them around the railing to your deck.

Notonly will the string lights add to the visual appeal of your deck or patio, they’re also functional. They provide soft lighting – enough for people to eat by. They also light up dark areas to provide safe walking at night.

Types of patio string lights

You’ll find all kinds of fun patio string lights, so if you’re hosting an outdoor party, you can find string lights to compliment your theme.

Throwing a luau? Purchase a few strings of flamingo lights or pineapple lights. For a Cinco de Mayo bash, hang some pepper lights. Halloween? Try some miniature jack-o-lantern lights or some skeleton lights. For a Christmas soiree, try some snowflake lights. Another type of lights that would be great for a Christmas party are the small clear globes filled with colored tinsel.

For get-togethers with no special theme, and for everyday use, you might prefer lights that look like small coach lanterns or colorful Japanese lanterns. The plain tiny white lights are always a tasteful choice, too, especially when they’re donned on the branches of trees.

How much do patio string lights cost?

Patio string lights are super affordable. A string of 50 lights can be found for around $20. Special designs will cost more, but none of them are very expensive. At such low prices, you can afford several strings. And if you take care of the lights, you can use them over and over again.

Where to buy patio string lights

Plain white and colored string lights can be found just about anywhere during the Christmas season, but other than that, they can be tricky to find. If you’re looking for themed lights, they’ll be even harder to find. You might find a few selections at your local party supply store.

If you want to see a huge selection of patio string lights, however, shop online!
